Sonu Thapa's projects utilise a narrative approach to consider how users will engage with the surrounding built environment. She showcases her ideas through sketches, computer-generated models and physical hand-made models – allowing for a generative approach in the design process.

Mud Kitchen
Mud KitchenThe main concept of the kiosk is the use of materials. The project was based in Bermondsey. The materials used: straw for the concertina door, mud, glass frame and timber blocks for the structure. The design is inspired by the vernacular architecture of Nepal.
Theatre Pavilion
Theatre Pavilion The pavilion sits on top of the water supported by stilts. The design is based in East India and Kingfisher burrough and reflects how the East India Dock Basin was used in the past and today.
