Marcey Zajac

Marcey Zajac was born in Poland and currently lives in London. She graduated from Illustration for Communication BA(Hons) at Ravensbourne University in 2023. Zajac's expertise lies in combining illustration and graphic design into one cohesive language. Design principles drive her work, yet she never forgoes artistic expression and communication through illustrative playfulness.

Zajac’s work reflects her curiosity and can rarely be tied to one theme for long. Instead she chooses to document her current interests as a creative journey. She has a playful touch using fantasy frequently and a light-hearted subject matter, hoping her work can 'spark joy' in its viewers.

Since Zajac could pick up a pencil, she has been drawing and creating and has always had a knack for computers. Her passions converge in digital illustration!

Yet the physical element remains strong for Zajac whenever possible she aims to have an outcome in the world and on paper ideally in a tactile interactive format.

“Mushrooms” Im-Print, Im-PressA live competition brief set by G. F. Smith, Foil co., and Baddeley Brothers to create a sustainable (Typo)graphic paper installation. The outcome needed to celebrate the materiality and physicality of print and to show strong consideration for the use of paper (G. F. Smith), including hot stamping foils (FoilCo) as well as print and finishing production (Baddeley Brothers). Zajac was shortlisted in this competition and featured on the University's Graphic Design Instagram.
