Lucy Mackie
Lucy Mackie is an intuitive, practical, and futuristic product designer who strives to design pieces with the target market and environment in mind. Soon to graduate Ravensbourne’s Foundation Diploma Art and Design course, Mackie is on the lookout for employers to sponsor Product Design and Development Engineering Degree apprenticeships, to further her career in the creative industry. She aspires to work on her design skills whilst studying A-Level Maths this coming year to enable her to move forward with her desired course choice. Mackie is currently completing her DofE Gold Award, whilst exercising her interest in painting, starting to make a hobby into a small online profit.
Mackie's dedication to projects is evident throughout her coursework. Using her personal connection in her DofE community she was able to design a working prototype of a camping lantern, which helped grow her experience in model making, 3D printing, digital design, material exploration, sustainable design and much more. Her most recent work (Antiquate Lamp) is another important piece, that displays how her transferable creative skills can be shown and executed.
Mackie is not only supported by her peers but her creative family. Along the way they have helped her collect logical and practical solutions to design problems she’s encountered. She has learnt and picked up skills in haberdashery, electronics, woodwork, digital design, photography, technical drawing, and painting.
