Kristiana Genca

Kristiana Genca is a dedicated and hard-working interior design and architecture graduate with a strong passion for the adaptive re-use and preservation of historic structures. She believes that any neglected building, no matter the historical, social or personal association is worthy to be re-invented and embody its true potential again.

Inspired by the changes brought by the global pandemic, her Final Major Project “The Play at Playtower” investigates the future of work by exploring how work and family life can co-exist in the same space. To conduct the project, an abandoned Victorian bath house in Lewisham was repurposed into a multi-facility children’s sports centre and a co-working space for parents. The project successfully managed to preserve the charm and character of the existing structure whilst adding functional extensions and creating a vibrant environment for the local community.
