Jasmine Vernon-Angus

Jasmine Vernon-Angus is a mixed media artist specialising in photography and digital editing. Her project “Aquaculture Erosion” makes use of glass layer painting using acetate and marker graffiti style illustration, personal DSLR photography and photoshop editing. “Aquaculture Erosion” aims to create discussion around her hometown's regular river pollution, specifically its effects on the local wildlife, mainly the fish species carp. Participating in fishing with her father and photography with her godfather from a young age. After growing concern with the lack of awareness around small scale river pollution, she combined these 2 elements to create an outcome that asks its audience to reflect on their own impacts towards pollution, what can be done to reduce the impacts, and be reminded visually of the often upsetting physical damage done to our local ecosystem.

Vernon-Angus is currently participating in Media Trust's Creativity Works: Multimedia Training course and is actively completing event and portraiture freelance photography. She also completes portrait illustration commissions in physical and digital forms.
