Daniel Oakes

Daniel Oakes is a mature, passionate, and resilient game designer who specialises in game artist roles, which includes skills in areas such as environmental and level design, character design and concept art. With a real passion and drive for creating enjoyable and memorable characters and level designs, his work often reflects this passion by striving to be of the highest possible quality. Oakes understands and values the fact that there will always be room for improvement and that mistakes will happen. Oakes has an ability to learn and reflect upon any mistakes or feedback that may arise and to then be as adaptable as it takes to then produce designs that will shine even brighter than before, no matter how many iterations it takes.

Oakes has explored many areas and created many different projects since joining Ravensbourne University. From small scale projects, such as designing and crafting game based around a costume shop; a card game around being the best at BBQ; to larger scale projects such as a 2D platforming game idea that reflects a different specific emotion within each game area with a boss arena level — a full game version is currently under development. Oakes is continuing to develop his skills and has truly begun to evolve and shine as a games artist.
