BA (Hons) Architecture

From private buildings to public spaces, architecture plays a fundamental part in the fabric of society, shaping the towns and cities where we live and influencing how we live, work, socialise and play.

The BA (Hons) Architecture course provides students with a strong knowledge and understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of architecture, to ensure practice readiness as future change-makers. The course combines areas of art, philosophy and technology that engenders an experimental approach to solving problems and the realisation of ideas.

Students not only focus on the design of different building typologies across a range of contexts – locally and nationally – but also integrate knowledge of technologies related to material, structure, and construction, underpinned by a knowledge of the theories and histories of architecture, professional and ethical practice, and life safety. Students apply this knowledge holistically to consider ways that architecture relates to all aspects of daily life, with the aim to improve it.
